This Hilux is actually from the outback and it's ready for camping, bugging out or just daily driving. I personally imported it from Australia (RHD) here to Georgia and it has a clean title. I'm the only US owner. It starts, runs and drives great with no issues and it needs nothing to be a daily or a fun weekend ute. It was outfitted for outback camping to which I'll go over all the details. The owner in Western Australia originally used it to take in the bush and camp out for extended trips. - 2.8 3L Diesel engine. Timing belt recently done. Compression is good and starts easily in cold weather without glowing. It leaks some oil and burns some, but that's to be expected. - COLD AC and heater works great - Garaged always - New manual glow plug momentary button/relay setup with new plugs - New starter - 5-speed - Solid front axle - LSD rear axle - No rust on frame - Two small rust spots on cab (taken care of) - Old Man Emu suspension and shocks giving it a 3" lift - Converted to Evans waterless coolant to mitigate any head issues - Dual 12V batteries (2nd battery mounted to frame rail) and isolation switch - Safari snorkel - Dual jerry cans on swing out rear bumper. I have always accelerated slowly (it's not fast anyhow) and I never get the tach over 3k. My braking entails planning for stop wife gets on to me that I drive like an old man, but my vehicles last a long time and are not abused. So, I'm good with that. The bad: - Softball sized dent in right-rear of cab light. I never attempted to fix it with fiberglass, etc. as it never bothered me and isn’t too apparent. - A-pillar had a dime sized rust hole near the vent window. Killed the rust and treated with POR. - The usually small scrapes and bumps from regular use in Australia. - Gas gauge is inaccurate after first 100km - it starts to drop rapidly, but the gas light works fine and I usually fill up around 500km anyhow. Basically, it's probably getting hung up in the tank. So, to sum it up this is a rare purpose-build solid-axle Hilux that's ready for duty. You won't be let down in this rig and you'll likely not see another one in this shape or spec. Most that you see are from Japan and have lower miles, but questionable maintenance. The only reason I am selling is I need my garage space back, I've had my fun with it and I'm looking to pass it along. Toyota 4x4 1 Owner from 1992-2018 with most maintenance done at Riethmeyer’s in Austin, Texas. Truck has always been in Texas. I bought the truck in January and it's been my commuter for the past 3 months. It drives smooth and is great on the highway. I need something bigger. Records & Maintenance 68 Carfax records, super clean and well maintained, 4 wheel drive, 5 speed manual shift, P/S, P/B, after market Pioneer stereo with subwoofer and upgraded speakers. Replaced the timing belt, water pump, belt tensioner, drive belts and seals, fan shroud, thermostat, cooling fan, rear brakes, and flushed the clutch fluid, February 4, 2019. All OEM parts and all work done at Rising Sun Auto in Austin, Texas. Location The truck is in Austin, Texas. Local pickup preferred. Delivery option dependent on your location. Condition There’s one rip in the driver’s side seat and a few faint stains in the carpet but otherwise the interior is in good shape. This series Toyota upholstery holds up like no other. The fabric is woven, sturdy, and resistance to stains or showing dirt. Very little rust. The A/C is not currently working. The original owner had a minor accident in the truck leaving a few dents on the back of the truck. Our mechanic checked the truck over and said it’s in great condition. He recommends replacing the valve cover gaskets next but said it’s not necessary right now. Happy to answer other questions about the truck.
